Rock song - about religious zealots... why are they so pissed off?
progressive alternative rock acoustic solo music
This is me - my life in the form of music. Although my favorite type of music is progressive rock, I also liking writing solo acoustic songs, and have made some attempts at creating a few techno/industrial instrumental songs.
Story behind the song
A random conversation at the Full Moon restaurant in Lake Bluff, about conservatism vs. liberalism.
Lyrics
Thomas had a hint of mind,
To question his surroundings,
I wonder what he had in mind,
When he tried to place his findings,
Into a better paradigm, to make sense of his world,
While scornful, malicious thoughts were held of his kind.
Rain clouds are carpets with golden gates?
A feeble mind resides in decided fate, but,
What room is there for company?
When life is sold short with chastisement… and agony…
What room is there,
When you constantly hold yourself responsible,
For the things you cannot control?
Today I had the hint of mind,
To strike a conversation,
His name I did not know, but,
Nonetheless enjoyed the reveille,
When a slender frame approached,
To join in on the conversation.
His name I do not recall,
But I felt the anger of someone so small…
What good does it do them?
To harbor such anger,
I see aggression and hatred,
And the fingers point to this as their sources…
Who are the savages?
Today I had the hint of mind,
To question my surroundings,
Now I know I had in mind my best intentions…
But I’m a savage,
And so are you all,
I’m a savage.
