From early beginnings growing up in a trailer park, to becoming an accomplished rapper from Binghamton, New York, Pd has been through it all. Born Pete Slavick, and raised in a single parent household below the poverty line, Pd accredits the strength and fight he has, to his mother.
It wasn’t until he heard the 1982 classic “Atomic Dog” by George Clinton, that he was introduced to a completely new type of music. The sounds that Pd had never heard before, instantly hooked him and opened the flood gates to a diverse catalogue of old school music. As is the case with a lot of artists, Pd began writing poetry, as a form of release, later making the transition to full length songs.
With numerous cyphers under his belt, he began honing his craft amongst his peers and with the confidence and understanding required to push as a solo artist, he dropped out of college and focused his energy on pursuing a career in music.
In late 2014, Pd officially joined hip-hop record label, the 456 Movement. An independent label from New York, whose focus is on restoring the credibility to the art form.
Pd is what the game has been missing. He is no carbon copy, just an average Joe who took a stand, made a lane and made a name.
