Story behind the song
I wrote this song for my grandmother's funeral. I sang it to her before she passed. She told me to just play it at her funeral. She had jokes for real. How about I couldn't do either one when the actual day came. I could only cry.
Lyrics
I'm Going to Miss You (John Redmon) (I) A few short moments can pass by so fast. Someone tell me how I can make this moment last. For all that I know all that I have to realize Is that I'm going to miss you. (Chorus) I'm going to miss you. I have to realize. Truly miss you. I know it's time to say "Goodbye". But I'll look for you all around but in my heart you'll be found. I'm going to miss you. (II) I remember all the times we had together. All the times we joked, we laughed, we cried. But now those days are gone. How will I ever carry on? There's still one thing that I have got to say! (Repeat Chorus) (Chorus II) (We're going to miss you.) We have to realize. (We're going to miss you.) I thought we'd never have to say goodbye. (We'll look all around but in our hearts you'll be found). We're going to miss you. (TAG) Don't leave me. Please don't leave me. Don't leave me. Please don't leave me. Don't leave me. Don't leave me. Don't leave me. How could you leave me? I'm going to miss you. Copyright 1994 John P.
