Story behind the song
Originally, I had an idea to write something that had a consistent thread - either a single sustained note or maybe some kind of effect - flowing throughout the whole piece. After working with that idea for a while, a musical theme started to develop. During that development, I realized that the music sounded better with the sound coming in and out rather than being present throughout. The original sound is what you hear at the beginning and end of the piece. I still like the idea of a consistent sound flowing throughout a composition and will try to do that again.
