A Little Creative Editing with some Leveling
Comment Share
I had a recording of a live performance where the console outs failed during the first song. This is what a little editing can do to save a recording.

Story behind the song
For whatever reason (probably a lack of appropriate education) but "live sound engineers" (and I use that term loosely) in the small club scene have little knowledge of what they are supposed to be doing. Their use of eq is abysmal, and the concept of panning eludes them. However once in a while you find a "sound guy" that isn't too bad despite the lack of panning conception. The guy that mixed this show wasn't too bad. The best that I have come across in Jacksonville Fl so far. Nonetheless, during the first bridge of this bands first song, the tape outs went to crap and there was a 10 sec period of unusable recording..... HA HA, that is not the case, this is what a little editing can do for you.... I was able to fix the problem and get a usable track for the band. Also took the liberty to balance out some of the levels making the music give more of that live performance feel.
