Gary Johnston (piano) and Denise Lear (double bass) are "Johnston and Lear" , the creative core of a new smooth jazz group here in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. Along with Richard Spurrell on drums, Jason Hayward on saxophones and Patrick Boyle on trumpet they bring a fresh, vibrant sound to their original compositions.
