Story behind the song

I wrote this song because this is how I was raised.  What mattered was spending time with family and not the things that we had.

Momma and daddy didn't have enough money
for a brand new baseball glove
But I didn't care 'cause they were always there
to see me tear them bases up
It didn't matter that my glove was tattered
when my homerun won the game
I knew they were proud when I heard that crowd
cheering out my name
