Story behind the song
Written (recorded improv. rather!) in June 2005, it's a reflection on the passing of (Pantera/Damageplan guitarist)Dimebag Darrell. Remembering him just triggered this little improvisation. I guess it all went into my music as usual. No matter how it sounds...trust me it IS my Yamaha nylonstring. All the tools I had, to record it, were a cheap Phillips karaoke mic and my PC. The mic went direct into the module of the soundcard(yikes!). The result was a horrible noise-filled wave which concealed the sound of the Yamaha. But I knew the improvisation could not be repeated and I just had to find a way to make it sound like something bearable. This is where I remembered that Dime liked to mix-up different effect pedals to create unique sounds...I had to try. And - PRESTO! Don't remember what's on it but it sounds amazing.
