Story behind the song
September 2001. The second song that came to me regarding the September 11 attack, but the first to be recorded. The lyrics came first and I applied them to a previously written acoustic melody that was laying around. The recording is a quick one-take demo that I had intended on re-working and adding a bridge. I never did. The weird juxtaposition of love and retribution, was derived from the TV news and hearing everyone talk about how much love came pouring out of people and in the same breath, how we were gonna get em back.
