for violin (Mike Goist) and cello (Tiffany Chang).
Contemporary art music composer, mostly vocal and chamber ensemble music.
I'm a composer at Oberlin College. I write contemporary art music, mostly vocal pieces, and works for chamber ensemble. My vocal works tend toward virtuosity in their ranges, and all my music is very conscious of the counterpoint and blend of melodies into harmonic movement.

Story behind the song
This piece uses non-retrogradable rhythms - that is, rhythms that are palindromes. Sometimes these rhythms work together, other times, they are syncopated or dissonant. The violinist is Michael Goist, the cellist is Tiffany Chang, and this recording was made after half an hour of rehearsal time.
