THE OTHER GUY
VERSE
There’s another guy lurking around you, it seems,
Hoping that you’ll fulfill all of his dreams.
Though he wears shades he sees you’re a delight.
To his sore eyes you’re a beautiful sight.
He constantly gazes in wonder at you
Sunglassed in brown but beneath that he’s blue
For he feels empty and underemployed.
If he possessed you you’d fill up his void.
BRIDGE
He’s so hungry sometimes he feels faint
Yet no entree fits the bill.
It’s you he wants to try
But he’s so very shy.
INSTRUMENTAL 1 VERSE
BRIDGE
You’re the picture that he’d like to paint
Yet he thinks he’d merely spill
His tray of art supplies
Should such a chance arise.
VERSE
Well, this other guy uses his free time to think,
Pondering fate while he nurses a drink.
Wishing so much that he could intervene,
Editing so he could rework his scene.
He’d come to your rescue should you require help,
Feed you some sushi should you desire kelp.
All he can muster right now is to stay
Near you in case he could brighten your day.
BRIDGE
He considers you to be a saint
Yet for you he’d gladly kill.
How do I know this? Why,
I am the other guy!
