Story behind the song
I am by no means a "shred" guitarist but back in my early days of learning to play guitar, I was listening to any and every kind of rock guitar music. Though my style is more folk/punk/indie, there was always one instrumental "shred" guitarist I loved, Joe Satriani. Sure he could play a million notes but he always placed the ultimate importance on the melody. This is why he is considered by most the best in the genre. This is my little tribute song to him. I've had this progression kicking around for about 12 years and finally came up with a melody that I think works. Like I said , I'm no shredder. The only scale I know is the penatonic minor, and this is really just me taking a diversion from my "style" , having some fun and paying tribute to a fantastic musician.
