southern rock!
I've been writing songs for 18 years. I'm not the greatest musician/singer, but I love to play!
I started playing when I couldn't get anyone to put the music that I wanted to my lyrics. I love to colaborate with other writers!
Story behind the song
I wrote this song about the town I grew up in. I've seen so many changes over the years.
Lyrics
ANNISTON,AL
I was born in this town, spring of 74'
times were so much different then, you rarely locked a door
So many things have happened in the past 30 years
I watch the news at night, and just fill up with tears
People used to raise their hands, smile and say hello
not because they knew you, because you passed down the road
Lord, things have changed so much, this town has gone to hell
have mercy on this country-boy from Anniston, AL
The times of forgiveness, are all said and done
it's for you to make amends, once you've pulled a gun
memories have been replaced, that shine has turned to rust
you always lock your door at night, cause you don't know who to trust
I've seen a lot of good things, that have come and gone
not all of it has been so bad, Lord, please don't get me wrong
I've tried to make a difference, but I myself have failed
have mercy on this country-boy from Anniston,AL
I've seen friends who were close to me, throw their lives away
Lord, when they come to you, won't you let them stay
They never meant to do no wrong, they started out so well
have mercy on the people, of Anniston,AL
Lord, things have changed so much, in this town I know so well
have mercy on this country-boy, from Anniston,AL
Oh have mercy on this country-boy...
from Anniston,AL
