Prog Rock Keyboardist, Instrumental Rock, Fusion Jazz
This is Bill Rebsamen, keyboardist and songwriter for the Christian prog rock band Young Earth. www.youngearth.net This Soundclick site will host songs mostly from my pre-Young Earth songwriting and from new music solo ventures whenever they arise. I'm always writing original music and I love for anyone to listen and provide feedback. Need a keyboard part? I'd love to collaborate with other prog bands who might need keyboard parts as my schedule allows. To listen to some synth lead samples check out a few of my "Instant Noodles". These are music clips that focus directly on the synth solo. Look for the pic of the keyboard cooking instant noodles! :-) When I say I love progressive rock, I mean as a passion since childhood! When I was 7, the Welk family from England moved into our neighborhood in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The oldest boy, Robert, quickly introduced me to Rick Wakeman's album "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and then patiently taught me how to say the word "synthesizer" (a mouthful for any 7 year old!). As any avid prog rock fan knows, prog music speaks to my heart and deeply affects me as a musician. This is music you can feel!

Story behind the song
I had just recently moved back to smalltown life in Fort Smith, Arkansas after living in Kansas City. College life in a big city had made me aware of the world at large. They had homeless people downtown. high crime and gang activity all over, lots of people living in poverty (practically on the streets) near our campus... then on campus we had groups (back in the mid 80's) doing nuclear protests, animal rights and lots of other social concerns that never really entered my mind from living in our prestine little smalltown USA. Right or wrong... some of these causes seemed to still be going unnoticed when I returned to this little smalltown environment (even though by now our small town had many of the same problems on its doorstep). Even today its easy to become complacent and desensitized to things happening around the world and even right in our hometown. So much imagery is thrown at us from every direction. Some how it seems someone else must be taking care of all these problems. Or maybe that is the problem!
Lyrics
The Heart of God Words & Music Bill Rebsamen Lead vocals - Chuck Law Guitar and Bass - Steve Lockridge Drums - Kirk Gaither Keyboards - Bill Rebsamen Recorded and Produced in 1989 by Chuck Law "The Heart of God" We are the lucky ones here in America. The Grace of God has seen us through. Technical advances... All the comforts of home. For the ungrateful chosen few. But what about those... Living on the edge of life? When will they be satisfied? How long till fortunes replace their infirmities? Why cant the world relieve their cries? The Heart of God goes out all over the world. To every man, woman, boy and girl. Blessed are the ones living on the edge of their life. Soon they will know the Heart of God. Where do people go when they're looking for peace. Many have tried to find it on their own. Countless are the blessings from the Father above. There is place you can call your home. Hope for the homeless living out on the street. Open up your eyes to a brand new day. Education for an eager young man. Lead him into the light and on his way. The Heart of God goes out all over the world. To every man, woman, boy and girl. Blessed are the ones living on the edge of their life. Soon they will know the Heart of God.
