Hi There, Harriet Ames here. I'm fairly new to the net, but not new to songwriting. Been writing off and on since I was 7 or 8. (but you won't find those early gems here) About 2 years ago I started co-writing with a few very talented lyricists. Those songs are most of what you'll find here. Although I will probably add a few of my own over time as well.

Lyrics
The Sailor Needs The Sea © 2002 Bobbie Gallup, Corky Bernard (lyrics)& Harriet Ames (music) vs1 His first love is the ocean Perhaps even more than me Then of course, that battered boat That takes him out to sea I may well be the third in line Though I love him faithfully Not a man forged for dry land And the sailor needs the sea Refrain The sea, O... the sea... the sailor needs the sea vs2 Anxiously I walk the beach Each time that he's away Whisper messages in conch shells And I see him as I pray It's hard when bits of wreckage Wash to shore most every day He tells me not to worry I agree, then disobey Refrain For the sea, O...the sea..the sailor needs the sea Bridge 1 I shed a tear each time he leaves For his mistress the sea There's a salty trace on his lips and face A hint of mystery vs3 I hear a cry from the high spit He's returning with the tide The holds are filled with fins and gills His heart is filled with pride I see him standing at the wheel He waves off to the side He'll sell his catch and clean his boat Come home and tell me lies Refrain Bout the sea,O.. the sea..the sailor needs the sea Bridge 2 She's a cruel and heartless mistress Locked him tightly in her chains He's a seafarin' son on a mackerel run Salt water's in his veins Refrain From the sea, O..the sea..the sailor needs the sea Tag Each time that he leaves To be with her I pray he'll return to me
