Emerging from Houston, one of Hip Hop's latest hot spots, P. Tricksta stands to change the way the world views Texas music. While it may currently be known for its syrupy-flavored beats and screwed hooks this artist/producer chooses to take a different road from his fellow Texans. " I always felt like when it came to music, I relate more to the "eccentrics". You know, the ones who try to do something different with music, like Timbaland, The Neptunes, or even some of the smaller guys, like Needlz and Polow. It's just too easy to be normal and do what everybody else does. I'd rather just do me." Born Patrick Lemelle, P.Tricksta as a child leaned towards the arts more than anything. From drawing to poetry (which eventually lead to songwriting) P. Tricksta was just intrigued by creating something from nothing. In high school he began to rap with The Renegadz, a group formed by him and his younger brothers Audacity, Remo, and Pinky. But after a few failed attempts at working with local producers, the group decided to disband. In 2003, after graduating, P. Tricksta decided go for a degree in graphic design at North Harris Community College, but only lasted a semester before dropping out and returning to music. "It was calling me.
