Lyrics
Offmic MC and TnA appear courtesy of a-slam music productions. Co-producer Aresem can be contacted at: http://www.myspace.com/aresem1 TnA: Back in the day I always thought I’d be famous/ (Aresem, TnA, and EV, Come-on)/ Chorus: It’s our time to let it reign/ Time to let it reign / Let it reign (back in the day)/ Offmic MC: Back in the day, I always thought I’d be famous/ A dozen years later, and I still remain nameless./ Ain’t livin in no rush cuz this shits all good,/ I work hard to get my self here, out of this hood (vancity) / Now in tha days when I used to go to school,/ I would throw them bows, cuz y’all been acting a fool / They pushed me around and called me a flip / So I punched them in the face for givin me lip / But see I’m good with tha Africans, good with tha china-mans / Like Martin Luther King – y’alls all my brothers man (man)./ Now that we started dog, we ain’t gone stop./ I’m dropping more combinations than a master lock./ Catholic dark skinned Filipino man,/ My wardrobe is Versace like Italian./ March’in left, right, conquering worlds with my plan/ To march, one man, one group, united we stand (divided we fall)/ It’s Eternal Victory, with Offmic MC Rapp’in on a red beat, with a 5 star streak/ It’s a sound y’all ain’t never heard, stop like it’s absurd/ Waiting, praying, for Offmic’s next word/ But the media’s harassing us, my father abandoned us / East Van is our hood, y’all too rich in Los Angeles / So now it’s our time to reign, like it does from our skies O V M I K to rap or die (right)./ (Chorus)/ “E.V.”: Me and Ovmic start in the same place / Holding it down, way back in the day./ I used to get made fun of, get judged/ As I trudged through the hallways trying not to cuss./ Hair down to my shoulders,/ Weighing in at a 100 pounds, maybe a little more,/ With two reflections on my face,/ One from my glasses, one from the braces/ Locked down on my teeth/ Can’t even say hey! (sup) Without worrying about what people say when you’re not around./ But now these times have changed, let me give you taste of how we hold it down. (bring it down) / Work out everyday and pray every day,/ Try’en to get bigger and still stay holy (still remain the same)./ Rap everyday, this is work everyday,/ Like working 10 day weeks, without any pay./ Go to school everyday, to keep my brain awake,/ While trying to get somewhere in this industry./ Been saying what we say, into the mic everyday/ Now it’s our time to reign. It’s a style you have never heard,/ Stop likes it’s absurd/ Waiting, praying, anticipating, our next words/ Calling all your friends, like download this hit/ It’s Eternal Victory and Ovmik (Offmic) (it’s EV)/ Both live with our moms/ Dads are not around/ A Series of events that led us to this sound./ Now it is our day / We have come to stay / Time to let it reign / Time to let it reign.
