I am a 32 year old songwriter and I write songs that could probably be called "pop" or "rock." Some people might be less kind in their appraisals, but I'm sure no one would call my songs jazz, or classical, or rap, so I think the terms give a reasonable description of where I'm coming from I am a singer and musician of necessity. I enjoy singing and sometimes enjoy being a musician. The phrase "one man band" has a negative connotation to me, but that's what I've been, mostly, playing guitar, bass, keyboards/piano, and programming a drum computer to meet the needs of the songs. The song demos, which you can find using the above link, were recorded on a cassette 4 track, and I realize that the sound quality is not professional or polished, and that other elements could be improved (that said, the hi-fi link really sounds a lot better than lo-fi). Of course, it's easy for me to imagine what I meant it to sound like, but for everyone else I hope better gear and recording skill will improve the sound of future recordings. I only hope they convey the basic idea because they are just demos.
