Story behind the song
"Awake O sleeper" "Recently while I was at work I felt the Lord whisper in my ear, "What will I find when I come?" On September 11, 2001 God told his church to wake up! While the events of that day sent the world into a state of shock, I believe it was a wake up call to the church. We are reminded that the days are getting darker as we see the increase of wickedness. Our attention is being drawn to the urgency of the hour. (Rom 13:11-12) "And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here." We must make Jesus the Lord and master of everything we do. We must return to our first love. We must complete the Great Commission. We must obey his command to love the Lord our God and love our neighbor as ourselves. We show we truly love Christ when we obey his commands. And he counts us as friends. We must be unified...
