Story behind the song
This song was first performed by our band VEDIC TONES in October 2003. The composition was Uday's. Uday is an ace percussionist, a friend and our band member. Manish played the slide guitar in the supporting lead with me (on the bamboo flute). Shankar, another ace percussionist and band member, played the ghatam (the earthen pot). The composition depicts the right moods of love, separation and pathos. Moreover, the composition lends enough space to individual musicians, to innovate and improvise. It is based on Raga Jog. This is one of my favourite ones. Just listen to the interplay, the echo and wind effects .....
