Story behind the song

Well here's the story. 
Courtney's my ex and my first love.
Larry is one of my best friends. (Now, but before he didn't like me.)
I was with someone and I never gotten over Courtney after all this time. (3 years) And being with her again made my feelings for her grow. BUT! I already had a gf at that time, and I really didn't want to ruin what she and Larry had together. In the end, they're both my inspiration for this song and I've gotten over it. I realize that as long as Courtney is happy, so am I. It took me a while to realize I was being selfish in the end.....
