Story behind the song
I wrote this March 10, 1996. It's not really a love song!
This is a copy from the only remaining cassette recording I have of the song so the sound quality isn't perfect.

Fork In The Road

===========================================
I don't know what led us to this place that we're at
But I can see quite clearly that there's no turning back
Love can stand so much abuse, were past that point so what's the use
All your words of hate have dealt our love a fatal attack
You drove me to this fork in the road
Now just stand back and watch it explode
Oh I can still remember back to when you said "I Do"
But how much did you thinkg I'd take before it's through?
You forsake our wedding vows, slaughtered like some sacred cow
Now all that I think of is to get away from you
You drove me to this fork in the road
Now just stand back and watch it explode
Tear our paths apart, it's a good place to start
A fork in the road is better than a knife in the heart
Word by word and deed by deed you took my love away
Indifference and apathy are all that's left today
Too far gone to even care if I look around and you're not there
Numbness lives within the place where passion used to stay
You drove me to this fork in the road
Now just stand back and watch it explode
Tear our paths apart, it's a good place to start
A fork in the road is better than a knife in
