A song for Halloween or a spooky night

Story behind the song
This is a song from the same stable as "Crazy Man Micheal".
I had always wanted to tell a werewolf story that hinted at terrible deeds, but that didn't show them. I hope I have succeeded in doing just that. Don't listen to this alone on a full moon!
Lyrics
She saddled the grey horse and patted the bay,
** Bright shone the moon over valley and tor,
Though her true love had warned her to keep well away,
*** Full shone the moon on all hallows’ e’en.
When she left behind the wide open plain, **
She set off at a trot down the shadowy lane. ***
When she had crossed the shallow mill race, **
She urged her mount to pick up the pace. ***
When she arrived at the edge of the copse, **
She saw a white owl alight in the tree tops. ***
“Go back, go back!” cried the hoot of the owl, **
She was deep in the wood when she heard the first howl. ***
Eyes white with terror her mount it sped on, **
Till the very last breath in its body was gone. ***
Alone, all alone, she stood her ground. **
But the forest was silent, except for one sound. ***
At dawn her true love held her in his embrace,
Long gone that moon over valley and tor.
His bloody red fingers stroking her pale face.
And the sun it shone bright on all hallows.
