Hi there! I'm a songwriter of country songs. Though some of my stuff barely fits the general perception of that label.

Story behind the song
My partner was leaning on me a bit too much when I wrote this. Guess the song worked, because she saw the funny side of it and eased the pressure off after I sang it to her.
Lyrics
My darling wife thinks I'm hers to command, Thinks my role in life is to get what she demands, It's "Make another coffee honey! Pass me my book!" "Turn the record over, will you? What you gonna cook?" It's like that every hour of the day, The straw that broke the camel's back will hear me say: What did your last slave die of? Exhaustion - I have no doubt! What did your last slave die of? Tell me quick before I pass out. Doing you little favours is A.O.K. But you're a full time job that don't even pay. Ask me one more and I'll hit the highway! Tell me what did your last slave die of? She pulls my strings with a little grin, My resistance cracks and I soon give in. She says: "Bring the footstool over!" I don't think twice. "Answer the phone! Get me more ice!" She wraps it all up with a "pretty please" Can't that girl see she's got me on my knees? CHORUS From the start I've played it by her rules. It's easy to see that I've been her fool. All for her love I've passed her her pen, Run a thousand errands and I'll do it again! I can't escape from this slavery, I don't know what the heck I'd do if I were free. CHORUS
