You ain't foolin' nobody (but me)

I write all kinds of music from gospel to country, comedy to childrens songs as well as instrumentals. I play guitar (acoustic and lead) and sing with a count
I was born in the mid 1950's, and began playing guitar when I was 14 years old. I have played with many of the early (70's & 80's)country singers. I wrote my first song when I was 15 and now have over 120, from gospel to country. I love the challenge of writing a song that people can relate to, yet to say it in a brand new way. I play with a local group called Common Bond and jam whenever I can find some others pickers.

Story behind the song
I just thought I'd try my hand at a blues tune. Hope you like.
Lyrics
You ain't foolin' nobody (but me) 1. You done me down right dirty, when you packed your things and left, Said you needed time to get away, you had to go and find yourself. My friends told me that you're no good, I'm better off to set you free, You ain't foolin' nobody but me. Chorus They say a fool's born every minute and I'll admit I'm livin' proof. My life is better when you ain't in it, but it's so lonely without you. I'm sure someday I'm gonna realize our love can never be, So you ain't foolin' nobody, no you ain't foolin' nobody, you ain't foolin' nobody, but me. 2 Here I am back in the bedroom, a hangin' up your clothes, You swore that you still loved me, but I'm sure the whole world knows. They say it won't be very long before you up and leave, So you ain't foolin' nobody, but me. Doug York (c) 2006
