Taryn Murphy is a songwriter and music artist from Washington State now residing in Nashville, Tennessee. Credits include placements on nearly all major television networks as well as three feature films, “Wisegirls”, “A Perfect Life” and the recent blockbuster, “Burn After Reading”. She has penned two #1 singles for other artists including, “Almost Sorry/Zachem Pridumali Lyubov”” by International pop star Sergey Lazarev and, “Smile” by the stunning Ani Lorak. Many people know of her as a result of her song, “Make It Go Away” which was featured in the 2002 movie, “Wisegirls” (Starring Mariah Carey) Upcoming projects include releases by Pop Idol Holland winner, Nikki Kerkhof and Irish group, Dance To Tipperary both set to debut in March 2010. Story behind the song
I wrote this after having a very bad day! It's about the frustrations of being young and female in the music business or in the world for that matter. I've received tons of letters since writing it from all kinds of people who find it very relatable and liberating. Really it's a song for anyone who's ever felt overlooked, disrespected or underestimated.
