We play original songs in classic styles: Blues Rock, Rock`n`Roll, Blues/Pop, Hard Rock, Country/Pop, Sixties Retro, etc..
Druha smena (The Other Shift) was founded by Milan Vymazal (vocals, keyboards), Zdenek Poklemba (guitars) and Juraj Suchon (drums) in 2001. Jaroslav Novotny (bass) joined a year later. The bands philosophy is based on an argument about who is better: Beatles and Stones (Mr Vymazal asserts so) or Clapton and B.B. King (Mr Poklemba asserts so). The drummer Jirka Suchon usually agrees with everything and the bassist Jarda Novotny with nothing, just to be sure. This is the way how the necessary creative tension is generated. Its results can be heard at various rock (revival) festivals, motorbike meetings, school balls, etc. We must also mention our American friends living in Olomouc, Czech Republic who write the lyrics for us. Thanks a lot, Mick and Michael, for the ongoing excellent collaboration.

Lyrics
Well, the days are long Putting in all the hours you`re working When the day gets done Go drinking where the girls are lurking Might see me in the morning – hey! And you just might not. Well, the beer is strong Putting in all the hours you`re drinking And when the night gets done You wonder what you could have been thinking Might see me in the morning – hey! And she just might not. Alarm starts shrieking promptly when it`s six o`clock My head is throbbing, my stomach`s queasy How can I make it stop? Well, the lines are long At the local employment center And the urge is strong To tip a few, go on a bender. Might come back in the morning – hey! And I just might not. (solo-guitar) Alarm starts shrieking promptly when it`s six o`clock My head is throbbing, my stomach`s queasy How can I make it stop? Well, I saw the doc Said my liver needs a new replacement And I talked to Mom Said I could move into the basement Might be breathing in the morning – hey! And I just might not.
