Story behind the song
A song reflecting the pain of a broken relationship, and how certain things can trigger that pain all over again. This was my first attempt at writing a true blues song.
Lyrics
Rhythym: 12 bar blues @ 108 bpm Sequence: 4 bar Intro-V1-V2-V3-12 bar solo-V4-Ending V1: When you left me babe, my heart was torn in two When you left me babe, there’s nothing I could do ‘Cept cry myself to sleep & pray, the pain will go away V2: Why’s it still hurt so bad, after all these years Why’s the pain linger on, though there’s no more tears Just when I thought the pain had gone away, here it comes again V3: Time heals all wounds, or so the poets say Time heals all wounds, and there’s been a lotta time Then I saw you with another man, here it comes again V4: Here it comes again, caught me by surprise Here it comes again, smack right between the eyes Just when I thought the pain had gone away, here it comes again Just when I thought the pain had gone away O Lord, I thought it all had gone away But then I saw you with another man Well, here it comes, oh here it comes, yea here it comes again
