Full moon was shining on that hot summer night
We was gonna head up the mountain for a fun little backwoods drive
Well Robert he wasn’t old enough about 15 or so
Billy Jack said that’s O.K. Ya’ll can follow me let’s go
He would buy the whiskey we would just tag along
Sip it down pass it around until it all was gone
Billy Jack done hit the dirt roads we were right on his tail
When we saw the blue lights flashing we were all gonna go to jail
The smell of sour mash whiskey was as strong as it could be
By the time we got that hot rod stopped he had handed it to me
I said in a panic with the whiskey bottle in my lap
Come on man quit clowning around give me the cap
Robert Dale he looked at me with a smirkish grin
Said I threw it out the window when we first got in

The cop he done had Robert handcuffed and in the back
I was gonna have to drive his car to the station and that’s a fact
There was a cloud of dust a coming it must be Billy Jack
He could have got away but instead he headed back
Billy Jack had worked all week still hadn’t cashed his check
Told the judge it was all his fault blame him hey what the heck
The judge now he told Billy how much trouble we were in
Drinking and reckless driving was worthy of the pen
Then Billy offered all his money and the judge said let em go
Don’t ever let me catch you boys back up round here no more
