Bright Spark are two guys and a girl centred on Norwich, England, playing and singing their own brand of retro Brit Pop, softcore rock, and a wide range of othe
We are primarily a working live band and one of the busiest in the area. We enjoy every sort of gig, from private functions in swish hotels to social clubs and from sweaty rock venues to ballroom dances. Our original material reflects this and we write songs and instrumentals that are also very varied in style. All three of us play and sing and we are noted for our harmony work and our instrumental ability. We are an unusual combination - the excitement of being a new and inventive band, with the sure touch that comes only from many years of experience.

Story behind the song
What motivated me to write this song? Just something I needed to say!
Lyrics
Spit & Polish When we got together, you were so enthralled. Now I'm not sure whether you ever notice me at all. Don't let love go rusty. Don't let love grow stale. Don't let love get dusty - now, where's your mop and pail? All it needs is a little bit of spit and polish, a little bit of rubbing to make our loving shine. All it needs is a little bit of spit and polish. So get down on yer knees with that elbow-grease, and we'll rub along just fine. All I ever wanted – spend my life with you. But now you take for granted everything I do. You treat any stranger with a damn sight more respect, now our love's in danger of dying from neglect, when all it needs is a little bit of spit and polish, a little bit of rubbing to make our loving shine. All it needs is a little bit of spit and polish. So get down on yer knees with that elbow-grease, and we'll rub along just fine. A little hug and a squeeze, a 'thank-you' and 'please', and we’ll scrub along just fine, so get down on yer knees with that elbow-grease, and we’ll rub along just fine. © 2006 Heather Enid Wells
