Story behind the song
This song was born out of the many emotions that swell from within during the ups and downs of a meaningful relationship. I am one who is not always careful with words, hence the phrase "until this tongue is tame." The true heart healer, of course, is Christ himself.
Lyrics
Heart Healer We had love – now it’s gone Keep hangin’ on – we’re not that strong We have dreams – but they’re not real It’s overkill – The joy we steal, yeah. It’s the joy we steal Chorus Yeah baby let’s call the heart healer Til this tongue is tame Can’t keep breaking all the promises Can’t keep shifting all the blame Yeah baby let’s drown this scarlet fever In the belly of the sea Then we’ll burn down our bridges You know that we can free We had love – now it’s gone Keep hangin’ on – are we that strong? Are we that strong The heart healer Chorus (repeat 2x’s) I fell your lips with a kiss, under the candle light spell in the mist Yes I’m hopelessly romantic, she’s afraid of growing old But in her voice I’m hearing angels – on her skin I’m feeling gold Another heart that emptied bleeding The ocean tide recedes under the current of the moon Yeah another heart that needed healing.
