Story behind the song
When do you leave? When is enough, enough? Fom the woman's point of view. This song was actually written for a songwriter's workshop at UCLA taught by Buddy Kaye, who wrote songs for Elvis and Sinatra and believe it or not, Fresh Prince (Will Smith). We had to write songs in different genres. Buddy liked it a lot, but other students in the class said the chord changes weren't "country" enough. I think they meant that it had more than three chords.
Lyrics
I've heard your crazy stories known about your Lynn's and Lorie's put up with your poker and your booze Your forgive me's and I'm sorry's While you're dating Mata Hari's I'm telling you this time you're going to lose Chorus: I'm on the verge of walking out on you I don't know why I stay I'm on the verge of walking out on you I think I'll leave today Found you at the bar With a woman in your car Thought you said you'd never run around From the way that you perspire I know that you're a liar You're making me the laughing stock of town Chorus again: Copyright C 2005 by D.
