Story behind the song
I got bored of writing slow ballads and wanted to try my hand at my first ever Rock song. I started thinking about all the things that used to happen in my hometown, Hamilton Beach, NY, affectionately dubbed "Hamiltonia" by the locals. My good friend Joe Fiedling helped me lay down true guitar tracks to add a lot too it. He is an amazing musician and I'm thankful he agreed to do this with me
Lyrics
Hamiltonia A jumbo jet flew overhead and set off car alarms And a bus got way to close to me Damn near broke my arms Walking on a beach alone I found somebodies pot Stepped on a hyperdermic Had to get a tetanus shot Chorus: Hamiltonia, Hamiltonia land where I grew up Smelled so bad at high tide time that everyone threw up! Hamiltonia, Hamiltona land I called my own God Bless Hamiltonia, my home sweet home On a rim thats only six feet high We had a b-ball war And from the train 50 feet away It looked like we could soar Some guys from foreign lands came down And saw me five foot six Stared and laughed and walked away Man they can suck our !@#$ Chorus Solo Taking an adventure hike Got caught up in the weeds And a bamboo shoot did whack my face With concussion I did bleed A rusty door under a bridge Led to the depths of hell And the devil escaped there from that place And intensified the smell Chorus
