My beautiful wife, Mary Colleen, has been inspiring me to write music since we first met. This song speaks to that. True story....the first time I ever saw M.C. I got down on one knee, took her by the hand, and sang "Earth Angel" to her. I have it on video to prove it. Several buddies and I had an acapella doo-wap group in college (The Heartbreakers). We were singing at a youth church camp. M.C. had just graduated high school, and she was a camper in the audience. We made a habit out of embarrassing random people in the audience when we sang, and she happened to be in the front row. It worked....she embarrasses easily and turned beet red. A couple of years later, I asked her out and well....the rest is history.
