My first written was in ‘86 smack dab in the middle of that 80’s mix
I was inspired by them 80’s flicks
From Beat street to Krush groove to Breakin
Though one had a sequel a waste of time makin
Made the first tape around 11 years old
Every A&R’s goal to be certified gold
Initial cassettes Licsense to Ill and Raisin Hell
3rd time I copped L and those amazin bells
Wrote songs to a little casio
Truescribe, best friend we –
made a cameo
Mistaken, can’t recall my name back then
But I do know the first inscription, with a black pen
Unwrapping christmas gifts way too early
They took away the tape Truescribe was unworthy
Shook it off used cash my aunt gave me
Bought a better tape parental antics never fazed me
Took the end of songs turned em into intrumentals
Add a verse to Ice-T’s with a sharpened pencil
’93 I stopped writing cause of university
Plus I thought the music lacked creative diversity
3 years later, pen was on the brink again
Death of Big inspired me to inscribe the ink again
Some of these rhymes from and 96 sad to say
Still better than ones you wrote Saturday
Now I need atleast a rhyme a day for my lungs to suction
