Bands start for many reasons: girls, drugs, free booze. Subjective Well Being merely wanted Pop Tarts.
Hi. We were Subjective Well Being, a three piece rock band from Hot Springs Village, AR. Even though we are no longer active, we are leaving this page up so that if anyone ever come across these tunes, they can still take a listen. We still check back here every once and awhile, so leave us a comment or a note and tell us what you think. Thanks for ten years of rock and roll!

Story behind the song
BEN: This was a nice experiment, I think. When we were recording our long player "Radio" we had an idea that it would be cool for Russ and I to each write and play an acoustic song to bookend the record. So I was trying to figure out how to mic the acoustics for good sound and I took one of the songs that we had originally written as an electric song and played it acoustically. I was pleased with the results so I added a lite electric guitar part, basic bass part to it and played it for Taylor. He too liked it and decided to lay down a drum beat for it before he left a semester at Spain. I played it for Russ and he dug what he heard and I told him to do with it what he wanted. A few weeks later he played me a mastered version of what he did. And it was mega. Seriously mega. In my opinion, his keyboard and piano parts make the song good. He did a fantastic job. Lyrically, well, this is one of those unrequited love songs. I tried really hard to not write one, but when I wrote the electric version of the song that's how I was feeling. I really enjoy the chorus, and think the verses are just fine. I don't think that it's my finest song, lyrically, but I was 23 and stand by it. RUSS: This song, originally, was completely arranged and recorded by Ben and Taylor. However, after I heard it Ben offered me the chance to do whatever the hell I wanted to with it. The result of which was all the piano and electronic crazy-ness which is now mixed into it. I think the song was strong in it's original "stripped-down" version, but definitely think it has an interesting dynamic with the additional parts. In any case, I think in it's final form it is a good blend of acoustic instruments versus manipulated instruments.
Lyrics
I lost myself again On the way back home and then I tired to call and I couldn't get an answer So could we maybe talk about All the things I feel about You and predict and outcome because... I found my heart again Beating inside to no end I scribbled down non sensical feelings There's no way to just move on It's like I'm fifteen again I look your gone When what I wanted to say is that... CHORUS There's a thousand things I wish I said I love you need you but instead I just mumbled over everything Grown tired of this routine How long I've spent in between When what I wanted to say is lost over the airwaves Ben: Acoustic and Electric Guitars, Bass, Vocals/// Russ: Piano, Keyboards, Atmosphere/// Taylor: Drums
