Simple, moody about street folks in Vancouver in the early 80's
These are just some rough demo's that I recorded.
Story behind the song
I wrote it after seeing all the homeless kids, addicts and young prostitutes on the streets of Vancouver, Canada.
Lyrics
lipstick traces
on tender young faces
trapped under these gleaming city lights
runaway dreamers
who fall prey to the schemers
ever searching for limitless nights
there will be no warning
when it finally drags you down
deeper, deeper and down
"victims of innocence
angels who've lost their way
victims of innocence
you're down but you're okay"
who and what to blame
when you've been tainted by the shame
and young life spins out of control
haunted by the guilt
masked behind a wall that you've built
big city savages your soul
there will be no warning
when it finally drags you down
deeper, deeper and down
"victims of innocence
angels who've lost their way
victims of innocence
you're down but you're okay"
