hurdy gurdy and piano
I am a pianist who also plays hurdy gurdy and I like to combine the two instruments (this is not possible on my own in real time!). Putting chordal piano music against droning gurdy melodies makes for an interesting combination, with or without the rhythmic buzz which has to be used with some care.

Story behind the song
The tune was written down while on a ferry returning from The Netherlands. 'Diepstroming' means something like 'undercurrent' and the view in the song picture is back towards the Hook of Holland. The piece resulted from experiments in key-changing by playing arpeggios on the hurdy gurdy. Give it a little while to get started.
