amidst dusk, she wanders She would call out for me sometimes right when I can’t find my way through the haze right when I’m counting demons and imagine myself creeping down the cracks in the wall. She would speak of fragility of dreams and I would often wonder if my dreams had always been THE exception. I have violent dreams- one victory of Dream over this GREY world. She is speaking to me now beckoning cold waves. I feel her fingers wrapped around me I feel the bluntness in my chest

Story behind the song
Title inspired from a book by Salman Rushdie. Khattam Shud means "It is finished". "She" doesn't actually refer to a person - it's a metaphor for all the worldy things and perverse pleasures even, that we indulge ourselves with. The character, in his/her bitterness and wild despair, realizes he/she has ceased to be lord over himself/herself. Partly inspired by a quotation from Wordsworth, "Suffering is permanent, obscure, and dark And has the nature of infinity". The lead riff for the song was the first part of the song completed. The rest of the melody/riff sort of developed from there. The original arrangement of the song included a prog rock-inspired progression in the middle of the track (The original title of this song was - Khattam-Shud Wild in the middle) This is a one-take live recording.
Lyrics
You sharpen my anger To its murderous edge I’m driven to desperation Man you got me on my knees There’s a kind of burning Baby deep inside There’s a thousand colored stories Surrounding your lies Safe from the world Bring me back home Safe from the world Faith take me home So this is where the twilight ends Find solace in the silence Turn my head away from the screaming Man she sparkles when I’m high There's a kind of Burning Dont you feel it deep inside? I bear the sadness of the truth That it was all just a lie Safe from the world Bring me back home Safe from the world Faith take me home She dances as the heads roll by… Sing praises at the scene of the crime… She dances as the heads roll by… Sing praises at the scene of the crime…
