We play original songs in classic styles: Blues Rock, Rock`n`Roll, Blues/Pop, Hard Rock, Country/Pop, Sixties Retro, etc..
Druha smena (The Other Shift) was founded by Milan Vymazal (vocals, keyboards), Zdenek Poklemba (guitars) and Juraj Suchon (drums) in 2001. Jaroslav Novotny (bass) joined a year later. The bands philosophy is based on an argument about who is better: Beatles and Stones (Mr Vymazal asserts so) or Clapton and B.B. King (Mr Poklemba asserts so). The drummer Jirka Suchon usually agrees with everything and the bassist Jarda Novotny with nothing, just to be sure. This is the way how the necessary creative tension is generated. Its results can be heard at various rock (revival) festivals, motorbike meetings, school balls, etc. We must also mention our American friends living in Olomouc, Czech Republic who write the lyrics for us. Thanks a lot, Mick and Michael, for the ongoing excellent collaboration.

Lyrics
Come, take a ride on the Silver Queen, oh yeah! She can show you what you`ve never seen Why don`t you go on and take a cruise Tell me what you got to lose So come on, let`s ride the Silver Queen. She is a gambling man`s sweet dream, oh yeah! Bring your money and watch it flow downstream You know she knows the cards she deals And she knows the way you feel So pack your bags and ride the Silver Queen. Well, she might break your heart in two And that`s the least that she can do. `Cause when you start, your wallet`s fat And in the end you wonder where it`s at. Don`t you be sad, just ride the Silver Queen. (solo-piano) Well, she might break your heart in two And that`s the least that she can do `Cause when you start, your wallet`s fat And in the end you wonder where it`s at Don`t you be sad, jump off the Silver Queen. So when she gets to Memphis town, oh yeah! You`ll be happy to be back on the ground So maybe next time take the train It can save you from the pain So ride the rails, don`t touch the Silver Queen Don`t touch the Silver Queen Don`t touch the Silver Queen.
