Story behind the song
My co-writer and I didn't have a good idea for a that day, so we began talking about what was going on in our our lives. We began talking about our parents--hers were getting older and mine were no longer around. I recalled expressing things I had needed to say to my father, just hours before he died--something I regretted not having the chance to do with my mother. Suddenly, we had a great idea for a song.
