The Face of God
Human frailty
We are separate
None may look upon it and live
It is the legacy of the fallen...
A burning bush
A pillar of fire
A distant rainbow
A shaft of light breaking through the clouds
We shall come no closer until Providence rescues us and even then
What will we see?
A universe infinite
A star exploding in a distant galaxy
A distant light moving ever closer causing us to come to grips with insignificance
A fleeing moment of clarity
A smile in a child’s eyes
Window to the soul of an innocent
A single red rose come into full bloom
A kitten playing with a piece of string
The steam filled streets after a summer’s rain
A glimpse into infinity
A book to read, to forever seek to understand
A belief to believe in eternity
Gifts to look upon, reasons to continue in a never ending search
For a face to gaze at, a presence beyond our own
We will not cease in our hopes to find something
A place inside our hearts to fill
Sunrise in the mountain air
A perfect wave upon the beach
The scent of flowers on a woodland trail
Questions asked but never answered
A war fought but never won
An empty throne that waits for a king
A simple melody
A whispered moment in time’s onward march
A blink of an eye, a single beat of a hummingbird’s wings
A step upon new mown grass
A fractured stone that fell from the sky
A search for purpose, something more
A need for love
We will not cease
