Sometimes I get confused about why my heart is a little lonely and no one seems to get that I'm a pretty righteous chick. This song is my retaliation against all of the stupid boys who don't quite get it.

Story behind the song
Back in the days of land lines, one night I found myself waiting by the phone for a boy to call. He didn't, and it got me thinking about all of my other wasted nights. Then I got angry, so I wrote a song about how awesome I was, and how I didn't want his sorry a** anyway.
Except I kind of still did, but that's for another song.
Lyrics
Oh, you can play by your rules
I've got a set of my own
Won't be waiting on you
No sitting by that phone
A portrait of a lady
Strong and sweet and so smar
If you don't understand it
We best not even start
Chorus
I've done my share of cryin'
I ain't got no more for you
But if you want kisses and kindness
That I'll gladly do, that I'll gladly do
Jealous ain't my style
So you can save all your time
Trying to catch my eye
With another next to your side
Hold on to me loosely
'Cause freedom is my sweet muse
Got some miles to walk yet
Ain't broken in my red shoes
Chorus
Bridge
I've wasted my time
On unsavory kinds
Who wasted their lying on me
I woke up to find I was sleeping alone
And you're not the man of my dreams
No you're not the man
That you seemed
Surely I do like you
But that better be, oh, enough
'Cause I've made my mind up
Don't to fall in your love
Chorus
