Story behind the song
It was June or July '03. I was in my basement studio trying to get some writing done...if it wasn't for the Sox game on the tube. They'd rallied from behind to win and that special joy a sports fan feels rushed through me again. It was shortly after I turned the game off and returned to my keyboard that the light went on in my head - the keyboard lick I'd written a few nights back would serve wonderfully as the main theme of a rally song for the Red Sox! It's not that I felt they needed a rally song of their own, but hey - they deserve it! And I've got a feeling that Sox fans everywhere are gonna enjoy chanting "The Red Sox Rock" at the top of their lungs. Fast-forward to early 2007...after almost 30,000 downloads of the song from www.redsoxrock.com I get an offer by Live Studio Drums owner Frank Basile to have him add his awesome playing to the song. Turns out he's a big Red Sox fan. So he adds his tasty tracks and we remix and re-release the tune in May of '07. So - download it; play it; sing it; scream it; taunt your Yankee-Fan Friends with it; call your local radio station and request it; get a copy to your friends - let's have a blast as we lift up and support our Sox!
