Moker Jarrett ASCAP with Lucky Stiff, a classic rock group from Jacksonville, Florida has released Ready to Fly a new CD under Run to the Sun Publishing/ASCAP.
Moker Jarrett grew up in the coastal area of Northeast Florida. His dad was a coach and one of his coaching buddies gave Moker his nickname at around age six. Obviously it stuck like glue. The folk masses at St. Paul's were among his first guitar/vocal conquests and that has turned into a lifetime of writing and performing songs. In addition to his dad, his granny and mom were big influences of his outlook on life. My wife gives me a huge dose of support to continue writing at this level. Country has become a favorite genre of Moker's and his main co-writer, Dale Peaden from Panama City Florida shares 13 of the 17 cuts on the recently released CD "Cut This". This team shares a mix of uptempos and heartfelt tunes and is sure to be on their way to garnering a string of country hits. You'll go away humming the melodies and chorus lines and these songs draw you in and make you feel like you're right there in the story. Still performing at local festivals Moker's group "Moker Jarrett with Lucky Stiff"a Jacksonville Florida based power trio is a collection of veteran performers (Moker Jarrett from Jacksonville, guitars, vocals, & songwriter, Jim Rohl, from Cincinnatti drums, Billy Smith, from Philadelphia, bass guitar, & vocals) commited to having a good time, writing cuttable original material for the country and pop/rock markets, and stayin' true to our roots of music with a groove. Music should make your body move!

Anything For a Kiss verse 1 When I was a nine year old boy my big brother took my fool's gold coin he brought it back all chipped n wet told me he was sorry then said... "me n Janet Lee, went to the quarry tonight I said an armored car had crashed n sunk out of sight if I stripped to my hips, and took a thirty foot dive would she kiss me, if I came back alive pre-chorus: I came up with your coin in my hand she kissed me, and someday you'll understand Chorus: cos I've lifted Dad's barbells over my chest hopin' that gal'd be impressed played chicken with midnight freights hopin' she'd suck a little face made crazy plans...took ev'ry chance or risk she's in my dreams and I'd do anything for a kiss" verse 2 well, I got home late when I was just fifteen and Dad asked what happened to his Jim Beam I said "Dad, before you whip off your belt I didn't drink that whiskey myself I was with Peggy Smith and we were out for a walk took her by a junkyard...fed your bourbon to the dog we steamed up some ol' truck that'd been in a wreck you can almost see the hickeys, even on my red neck pre-chorus: Dad fought a smile when I said "she's worth any whuppin' I get Chorus: cos I've lifted your barbells over my chest hopin' that gal'd be impressed played chicken with midnight freights hopin' she'd suck a little face made crazy plans...took ev'ry chance or risk she's in my dreams and I'd do anything for a kiss" now it's my one day off, 'n' I should be watchin' the play-offs but I got a honey-do-list fix the roof...fix the dog, mow the lawn...the sink is clogged cos she knows I'll do anything........ for a kiss anything for a kiss anything for a kiss... © 2007 Robert George & Moker Jarrett all rights reserved mjbmusic@Comcast.net
