RETRO pop songs --- from another millennium and another galaxy.
My name's Pete. from Birmingham in UK-land. Nice to meet you ! I made a lot of very varied popsongs in the pre-digital age. I say they're McCartneyish, as I don't know how to categorize them. Allsorts. The description I use is RETRO I'm really a songwriter who wants others to perform these songs. So please bear that in mind as you grimace at my efforts to be acceptable. I'm especially concerned to write good lyrics, and if you do ever give some time to my stuff, I hope you will click to the lyrics and read those also. They don't come easy, you know. I'm plonking my songs here to give them a home, in the hope you might think they're not too bad. In fact, in the hope that you'll snap them up and I'll become an instant overnight megastar multi-millionaire. But failing that, I hope that you just like them. And if you do like one - I'd especially like it if you told me so. We all need strokes, eh ? Cheers ! Pete Songs-in-a-Bottle

Story behind the song
I had the title, and worked backwards from that
Lyrics
well see the pure display of unalloyed delight when a child is learning how to fly a kite when you see that smile come glinting in its eye there are some things money just can't buy sunlight on the surface of a mirrored lake and the crystal beauty of every individual snowflake never once repeated, don't it make you cry there are some things money just can't buy well just look around hear the sound stop and stare breathe fresh air there's so many free things, you don't need to spend, a bell ring, surprise surprise an unexpected visit from a friend who inquires how are you - just thought I'd drop by there are some things money just can't buy well sweet nightingale not for sale caring thought can't be bought little things around you charm and gratify like the veined transparent wings that beautify and grace the dragonfly and the cloudy patterns in a mackerel sky there are some things money just can't buy oh yeah there are some things money just can't buy oh yeah some things money just can't buy
