Story behind the song
I recorded this on 9/16/04, the day Venus transited the sun. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transit_of_Venus
I decided that the event needed a quirky little bass 'n fiddle instrumental improv, so I picked up the bass, found a nifty little riff that weaves between 5/4 to 6/4 whenever it feels like it. Then I dubbed a secondary rhythm track in a higher octave for a more elliptical beat, and broke out the fiddle for a laid-back, ambling melody line that just walks along the rhythm without a worry.
