We feel that the original songs that we play offer our audience the opportunity to connect or at least consider getting connected with God.
I started writing songs at 14. I fell in love at 20, she was 19. I got married at 23 and then divorced 10 months later. At 24 I tried to commit suicide. Obviously, I failed. At 25 I fell in love again, this time with a man. A man who understood all of my pain and all of my shame. He showed me that I was so incredibly valuable that he was willing to give up his own life that I might live, forever. At first I found it hard to believe but, then little miracles started happening like my wife and I getting reconciled and remarried in 1988. Our son being born in '94 and our daughter in '99. And now, songs pour from a heart that is very grateful to the unmistakable and undeniable Grace that belongs to none other than Jesus Christ.

Story behind the song
As the opening line suggests, I literally woke up hearing this song being played in my head. To the extent that as I began to wake up the room became more quiet. Without a single drop of coffee, I was able to finish it in about 30 minutes. Had I not gotten right up and written it down, I'm certain it would have never existed.
Lyrics
Well I woke up today with this thought on my mind What if overnight the whole world just went blind Yeah, and lost their sight Would there be kids on the streets with guns in their hands School yards used to sell more crack Well that would be so sad Hasn't it come to that And when you look in their eyes And you see the fear No one's taken time to dry their tears Innocence was stolen away Yeah, what about Peace What about Joy What about Love Well, I turned on the news the other day Had to turn it off because it made me so afraid What's this world come to anyway People lose their lives in the blink of an eye While the ones they love helplessly watch them die And it's not their war to fight And when you look in their eyes and see the pain Try to wonder what there is to gain By blood spilled in vain Yeah, what about Peace What about Joy What about Love What about Hope What about Trust What about believing there is someone Greater than all of us Yeah, what about God Well. I've been on this planet long enough To understand that life gets tough And it's just not fair But that's not a reason not to care It doesn't take very long to take a look around There's always someone worse off Who's a little bit farther down Maybe you've got something to share And when you look in their eyes and you see the tears Try to understand you've gotten very near to their heart Yeah, what about Peace What about Joy What about Love What about Hope What about Trust What about believing there is someone Greater than all of us Yeah, what about God It's been said that no nation Can rise above what they believe in Just take a look into the faces Of those who would die for freedom Yeah freedom! Whoa, but what about Peace What about Joy What about Love What about Hope What about Trust What about believing there is someone Greater than all of us Yeah, what about God What about God What about Peace What about Love What about God What about Faith What about Joy What about God What about Hope What about Trust What about believing there is someone Greater than all of us, Yeah! Well, I woke up today with this thought on my mind.
