Hey, this is Mister Chris, I'm the Advancement Chairman for a Scout Troop in the Memphis Area, Troop Ole97. This band has formed to create an album to sell to our Alumni from this 65-year-old troop to support the work of the troop. Those songs that are original works by me I am pumping up here onto SoundClick so that you can listen to them. All other members of the band are Scout Leaders or Eagle Scouts themselves.

Story behind the song
I wrote this song for Buddy Irwin, who started a troop back in 1937 and grew it to over 100 boys. He stayed at it for 50 years, Turning Boys into Men, until he died in 1989. Buddy has impacted the lives of thousands of men around this country, in all walks of life. He believed in the ideals of Scouting and believed in the boys. ...and he's not the only one. There are men and women all over this country investing their lives in growing kids to adulthood, trying to instill values and character into them. Quiet Heroes who are in it for the long haul.
