You might think it's Santana on this hot lead guitar but it's Larry Baeder. This is a rockin' Blues tune that works great as a serious head-bobber or for bringing in the latest hurricane update on the weathercast.

Fremont John plays Taylor acoustic guitars. Check out his CDs Timeline, Acoustic Thunder and Lightning Strikes the Bull. For fans of ,
A strong, versatile voice (think Jonny Lang or, Rob Thomas) and very clean, melodic guitar style (think acoustic Santana meets Craig Chaquico ) are Fremont's magic . Whether an original work or a cover song, John makes it his own. His style and killer sound make him a standout in a crowded field.

Story behind the song
THE STORY BEHIND THE SONG STORM WARNING By Fremont John Ashton This song started back in December of 1997 during the time my marriage was struggling to stay together. This was before I ever thought about moving to Key West. Then, it was titled “She Left Me”. And the lyrics were just as trite as the title. I left this song alone for about 6 years just because it seemed so trite. It’s another one that I resurrected from my song idea data bank to re-work and use for this CD project. I really went over this one completely changing the original rhythmic feel and totally rewriting the lyrics. Even then, I wasn’t really sure it belonged to this body of work but, this CD is all over the place stylistically. And, lyric content is right in there with “No Pity On Me” and “Save My Life”. I love playing electric lead on a hard rockin’ blues and I really like the key of B minor especially. However, I deferred to Larry for the leads on this just because I’ve been away from that style of playing for so long. Maybe, I’ll try to bring it back. But Larry’s work is kick-ass! I remember that when I was recording the vocal I was nearly standing on my tip-toes and my left index finger was pointed at the floor in a pose very much like you might take when you’re totally chewing someone’s ass. That’s the way it felt when I sang it. I was reaming somebody a new one.
Lyrics
STORM WARNING Words & Music by: Fremont John Ashton @ 2004 CD: "Timeline" CHORUS 1 It’s a storm warning. I see the dark, ominous clouds. It’s a storm warning. It’s a storm that’s brewing in our house. V1 I worked hard for all those years, Breakin’ my back for you. I gave you love and beautiful things. I did all that mortal man can do. But my love ain’t good enough. Not to a woman like you. You better get it, Babe. This ain’t no bluff. Some heavy weather’s hittin’ you soon. It’s a Storm Warning Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh…. GTR SOLO V2 Every time I think about us, It seems like yesterday. We was carryin’ on and makin’ love,__. But, there’s a storm brewin’ up today. It gets dark inside my heart, When I think of you being with him. You and I have drifted apart Like leaves in a stormy wind. Ch 2 It’s a Storm Warning. It’s bringin’ lightnin’, thunder and pain. It’s a Storm Warning. Like a locomotive hurricane. It’s a Storm Warning. I see the dark, ominous clouds. It’s a Storm Warning. It’s a storm that’s brewing in our house. It’s a Storm Warning (repeat several times)
